WHY WE EXIST

The people of Puerto Rico are the true founders of this organization.

A decade of endurance. A promise made in 2026. The beginning of what comes next.

Puerto Rico's beaches are among the most beautiful on earth. Warm water, golden sand, ecosystems alive with sea turtles, coral, and marine life that exist nowhere else in quite the same way. For generations, this coastline has been the soul of the island. The place where families gather, fishermen work, children grow up, and visitors fall in love with everything Puerto Rico is.

Every year, sargassum threatens to take that away.

Since 2015, seasonal sargassum influxes have arrived in quantities that bury shorelines, block marinas, choke marine life beneath the surface, and fill coastal neighborhoods with a smell that makes daily life unbearable. During peak season, tourists turn back at the shore, heartbroken for an island they love and know deserves better. They leave wishing someone would do something. Fishermen lose access to waters their families have worked for generations. Children stay away from shores that should be theirs. The coral, the sea turtles, and the ecosystems that make this island extraordinary bear the impact quietly beneath the surface.

Over the years, local and federal agencies have responded with real effort and genuine commitment. The Department of Natural and Environmental Resources of Puerto Rico has been a cornerstone of that effort, providing Reclaim Nature with meaningful support as we prepare to launch. Alongside DNER, agencies including FEMA, the Army Corps of Engineers, and the EPA have taken action to address what this island faces every season. Their work matters and deserves recognition. What this island still needs is a permanent, coordinated, and self-sustaining solution. That is exactly what Reclaim Nature was built to provide.

The people of Puerto Rico, their voices, their losses, their love for this place, and their refusal to surrender their coastline are the true founders of this organization.

Reclaim Nature, Inc. · Founded 2026

The people of Puerto Rico, their voices, their losses, their love for this place, and their refusal to surrender their coastline are the true founders of this organization. In 2026, we answered a decade of endurance with a promise.

When we launch, Reclaim Nature will collect sargassum from nearshore coastal waters, marinas, and coastal communities across Puerto Rico and transport it to partner facilities that will transform it into agricultural products, building materials, and more. The material that has been threatening Puerto Rico's shores for ten years has real value. That value will come back to the island in the form of jobs, new industries, and a coastline that communities can count on season after season.

And none of it happens without you.

The equipment, the operations, and the readiness to respond when the next season arrives depend entirely on the support of people who believe Puerto Rico deserves its coastline back.

You would not just be donating to a cause. You would be the reason this becomes real. One of the people who stood with Puerto Rico before the first collection ever happened, and made everything that follows possible.

This island has waited long enough. Help us be ready.
