How It Works
Detect & Predict, Intercept, Remove & Transport, Supply — a unified offshore-to-facility pipeline. Reclaim Nature collects, removes, loads, and transports recovered sargassum and co-collected plastic directly to processing facilities using DESMI equipment.

Detect and Predict
Real-time satellite monitoring and ocean current modeling identifies incoming sargassum accumulation zones before they reach Puerto Rico's coastline. Forecasting data determines landfall timing so crews and equipment are pre-positioned before the first biomass arrives. This is the difference between reacting to a crisis and being ready for one.

Intercept
Permitted DESMI Mesh Boom HD systems are deployed at seven coastal access points across Puerto Rico's eastern and southeastern coastline, deflecting incoming sargassum and co-entrained plastic debris before either reaches shore. The boom operates at approximately 40 meters from shore in water depths of 10 meters or less, with no seabed contact beyond anchor points. Coral reefs, seagrass beds, sea turtle nesting grounds, and marina infrastructure are shielded before impact.

Collect and Transport
The DESMI Sea Turtle MKII floating skimmer collects intercepted sargassum biomass and co-collected plastic exclusively at the water surface with no sand entrainment, pumping material as a slurry through an 8-inch discharge hose to the shore-side staging area at up to 30 metric tons per hour. Reclaim Nature loads the dewatered biomass and transports both material streams directly to qualified processing facilities. Our operational scope covers the full chain from offshore collection to facility delivery.

Supply
Reclaim Nature stages clean dewatered sargassum biomass and co-collected plastic at each coastal access point and makes both material streams available to qualified processors. The pipeline is open to any Puerto Rico based manufacturer or processor seeking recovered biomass as a raw material. Processing, manufacturing, and final disposition are entirely the responsibility of independent third-party partners.

From satellite detection to facility delivery, every step is permitted, science-backed, and executed by Reclaim Nature. What happens at the processing facility is where our partners take over.
Powered by DESMI Sea Turtle Technology.
Reclaim Nature's collection and deflection operations use the DESMI Mesh Boom HD and DESMI Sea Turtle MKII system, manufactured by DESMI A/S, a global environmental technology company founded in 1834. The system has been deployed across more than 72,100 feet of Caribbean coastline as of September 2025. DESMI's equipment is the benchmark for sargassum interception in the region.
